E-mobility subsidies
With a view to making mobility more sustainable, in Austria there is the option to receive subsidies for e-mobility. These vary in the amount, the type of vehicle purchased and whether a private individual or company is applying for the subsidy.

Good to know
Although in future, only certain corporate customers - as depicted above - will be subsidised, both the input tax deduction and the exemption from the engine-related insurance tax and from the benefit in kind for electric models shall remain in place for all corporate customers. This is the main reason why corporate customers would want to acquire an electric vehicle.

Registration
Firstly, it is important to know that registration and submission of the funding applications is exclusively possible online.
The deadline for registration ends on 31/03/2024 at the latest. However, this date depends on the available budget resources.
- Registration BEV, FCEV only for e-taxis, e-car sharing, social institutions, driving schools
- Registration of e-commercial vehicles and e-minibuses for businesses
- Registration of light e-vehicles, e-mopeds and e-motorbikes for businesses
- Registration of charging infrastructure for businesses

*Definition of electric carsharing:
Those eligible to apply are electric carsharing operators who, regardless of their legal form, offer electric carsharing vehicles on a station-based or station-independent basis to an undefined number of people for a fee. An electric carsharing vehicle in this sense is a motor vehicle that may be used by an undefined number of people by way of organised usage on the basis of a framework agreement with an electric carsharing operator.
**Definition of social institutions:
Those eligible to apply are businesses, other organisations engaged in entrepreneurial activities as well as associations, religious denominations and public regional authorities that provide social services. Registration in the info service of the Ministry of Social Affairs is a prerequisite.
Please note: There is a special provision for businesses with a purchase agreement from 2022. Application is still possible for businesses that have already registered in advance via the online platform. However, new registrations are no longer possible.
